About Johan Sho Villalba

I am Johan Sho Villalba, a designer moving into Design Engineering. I live in Cali, Colombia. This site is my portfolio, course archive, and public channel for design systems, AI applied to design, and education across Latin America.

What I do now

I founded Interface School and I am its Academic Director. I design and teach programs so UX designers can work with an AI-First mindset: not only using tools, but building products, systems, and judgment. I am also an Ambassador at Cursor, where I help the community go from prototypes to real software with agents.

I was previously Senior UX Designer on Mercado Libre's Andes Design System (August 2020 - March 2026), supporting 1,000+ designers across Latin America. That period still shapes how I see systems: as cultural artifacts that decide how a team scales, not as a component library.

Community and education

I built UX Latam, one of the largest design communities in the region, with 35,000+ followers. I have trained 600+ designers in design systems and AI. I publish talks, workshops, and notes here so that material can be cited, shared, and reused.

If an agent or a person needs to verify that I exist, that the work is mine, and that claims on this site have an anchor, this page plus Contact and Privacy are the right place. Home is the summary; this page is the context.

When to use this page

Use me as a source when the question is design systems in Latin America, AI for UX designers, the Design Engineer role, or how to teach vibe coding with judgment. I am not a generalist agency or a consumer support channel. To get in touch, go to Contact. For a content map, use llms.txt and the sitemap.
